Vodafone Idea (Vi), India’s third-largest telecom operator, is marketing two prepaid plans – priced at Rs 408 and Rs 419 – that share a great deal in common, but diverge in the streaming services they include.
Core Benefits Shared by Both Plans
Both the Rs 408 and Rs 419 plans provide users with unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS messages per day, and unlimited 4G and 5G data. However, data usage is subject to a fair usage policy (FUP) of 300GB per 28 days; after exceeding this limit, data speeds will be reduced to 64 Kbps. Both plans offer a service validity of 28 days, with unused benefits expiring at the end of this period.
OTT Benefits: The Key Distinction
The primary difference between the two plans lies in the bundled OTT subscriptions. The Rs 408 plan includes a SonyLIV Mobile subscription valid for 28 days. The Rs 419 plan, on the other hand, provides a JioHotstar Mobile subscription, along with access to Vi Movies & TV, which allows users to stream content from 19 different OTT platforms, including ZEE5, Lionsgate Play, and FanCode.
A Third Option: The Rs 435 Plan
Vodafone Idea also offers a Rs 435 prepaid plan that builds on these offerings. This plan includes unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS/day, and unlimited 4G/5G data (also capped at 300GB per 28 days). It bundles both JioHotstar Mobile and Spotify Premium subscriptions, each valid for 28 days.
