MagTapp Surpasses 6 Million Downloads, Shifts to AI-First Browser

MagTapp, an Indian technology company, is pivoting its browser to an AI-first experience following a milestone of over six million downloads. The company announced on September 28 that it is integrating AI-powered search, document tools, translation, and visual explanations directly into its platform, rather than relying on chatbot add-ons.

AI Integration and Features

The browser now leverages Alpie AI models from technology partner 169Pi across its core browsing functions. This integration allows users to receive direct answers to queries, summarise PDF documents and other content, and gain visual explanations for unfamiliar terms and concepts. MagTapp distinguishes itself by embedding these AI capabilities directly into the browsing experience, aiming to streamline workflows and eliminate the need to switch between separate applications.

Expansion to iOS and User Base

After years of development focused on Android, MagTapp is expanding its redesigned browser to iOS, with the application now listed on the Apple App Store in India. The company reports having over 143,000 ratings and reviews on the Google Play Store, maintaining a 4.2-star rating, and boasts a user base spanning 106 countries.

Future Plans

MagTapp intends to further expand its AI capabilities and platform reach. The company plans to introduce a desktop version of the browser, a larger application ecosystem, and connected experiences across multiple devices. This move aligns with a broader trend in the browser market, where companies are increasingly integrating AI to enhance web activities.
