Vivo is preparing to launch the V80 5G, a new addition to its V series, with a strong emphasis on camera capabilities. The device is currently scheduled for an Indian release on October 6, 2026, alongside the Galaxy S2 FE, and is expected to be priced around Rs 60,000.
ZEISS Collaboration Drives Camera Improvements
A key feature of the V80 5G will be its camera system, developed in partnership with ZEISS. This collaboration results in several notable upgrades, starting with the main sensor: a Sony LYTIA 700W sensor equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Alongside this, a ZEISS-powered ultrawide camera will also be included.
Telephoto Lens with Extended Zoom
The V80 5G will also boast an upgraded telephoto lens, featuring a 50MP Sony IMX 882 sensor. This sensor supports 3X optical zoom and up to 100X digital zoom, and also includes OIS. Vivo is also planning a dedicated ZEISS mode for portrait photography, enabling 85mm and 100mm focal lengths.
Performance and Display Specs
Beyond the camera, the Vivo V80 5G is expected to deliver improved performance thanks to the Qualcomm 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. This chipset will also enhance camera processing capabilities. The phone will feature a compact 6.59-inch OLED display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, with reduced bezel size.
Battery and Software
Powering the device will be a substantial 7,200mAh battery, supported by 90W wired fast charging. The V80 5G will ship with OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, and will include a cinematic mode inspired by Apple’s iPhone Cinematic video experience.
