Google has released native Gemini applications for both Windows and macOS operating systems, offering users a new way to access its artificial intelligence capabilities. This move arrives alongside OpenAI’s recent launch of a dedicated ChatGPT app for both platforms.

The Gemini app allows users to integrate the AI model directly into their workflow, eliminating the need to rely on a browser-based interface. This means Gemini can now assist with tasks without requiring a separate browser window to be open.
Key Features and Access
Users can quickly access Gemini on Windows by pressing Alt + Space, and on macOS with the Option + Space shortcut. These shortcuts launch the app, allowing users to input prompts and receive assistance with a variety of tasks, such as generating ideas or overcoming creative blocks. Gemini can reportedly detect where a user is stuck and offer suggestions, according to the announcement.
Gemini Spark and Creative Tools
The Gemini app also integrates access to Gemini Spark 1, a 24/7 personal AI agent.
