Vivo is preparing to launch the V80 5G in India on October 6, 2026, and recent leaks are detailing significant upgrades to the phone’s camera system and internal specifications. While the device initially debuted in China, the Indian variant promises solid hardware, according to reports.
ZEISS-Engineered Camera System
A key focus for the V80 5G is its camera, developed in partnership with ZEISS. The phone will feature a triple-camera setup headlined by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700W main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). ZEISS is also providing the ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor will handle telephoto duties, offering 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, alongside ZEISS Night Telephoto capabilities. A 50MP ZEISS selfie camera with autofocus will be on the front.
Performance and Display
The Vivo V80 5G is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, launched in May 2025, built on a 4nm process with eight cores. Testing indicates the chipset achieves an AnTuTu 11 score of 132996, and Geekbench 6 scores of 1270 for single-core and 4106 for multi-core performance. The phone will sport a 6.59-inch 1.5K flat OLED screen with a peak refresh rate of 144Hz.
Memory, Storage and Battery
The V80 5G will be available in three memory configurations, all with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage options include:
- 128GB UFS 4.1
- 256GB UFS 4.1
- 512GB UFS 4.1
Vivo is also including a substantial 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging.
Pricing Details
Leaks suggest the following pricing for the Indian market:
- 8GB RAM / 128GB Storage: Rs 63,000
- 8GB RAM / 256GB Storage: Rs 70,000
- 8GB RAM / 512GB Storage: Rs 80,000
At these price points, the Vivo V80 5G is expected to compete with devices such as the Oppo Reno series, Samsung Galaxy S26 FE models, and the OnePlus 15, according to sources.
The Vivo V80 5G will launch alongside the Vivo S2 FE 5G in India.
