Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G in India, positioning it as a strong contender in the competitive mid-to-high range smartphone market. The device, unveiled alongside the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, centres around a high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and a feature-rich AMOLED display.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max boasts a 6.84-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Xiaomi highlights the display’s 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, aiming to deliver a premium experience for both gaming and media consumption.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, fabricated on a 4nm process. According to Xiaomi, the chipset achieves an AnTuTu 11 score exceeding 1,012,134 points, and scores 1099 and 3481 in Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core tests respectively, promising smooth performance.
The phone features a triple-camera system, headlined by a 50MP OmniVision OV51A main sensor with a wide f/1.5 aperture. An 8MP ultrawide sensor is also included, a feature some competitors are omitting, according to the launch event. A 32MP front-facing camera handles selfies.
A substantial 10,000mAh battery fuels the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, supported by 100W fast wired charging. While it lacks wireless charging, it does offer 26W reverse fast charging, and includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is available in three colours: Secret Sunrise, Matcha Green, and Stealth Black. Pricing starts at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage configuration, and rises to Rs 55,999 for the 12GB RAM/256GB variant. Customers using ICICI Bank Credit, SBI Bank Credit, and Axis Bank Credit cards can avail of a Rs 5,000 discount, bringing the effective prices down to Rs 44,999 and Rs 50,999 respectively. The devices will go on sale starting September 23, 2026.
