While Apple has recently raised prices on its iPhone lineup, consumers in India can still find the base model iPhone 17 at its initial launch price of Rs 82,900. This opportunity stems from remaining older stock carrying the original Maximum Retail Price (MRP).
Price Discrepancy and Availability
The iPhone 17, with 256GB of storage, originally debuted in India for Rs 82,900. Apple has since increased the official price to Rs 99,900. However, some retailers are still selling units from the earlier production run at the lower price point. It’s important to note that purchasing these older stock units means foregoing EMI support.
Currently, Flipkart is listing the iPhone 17 at Rs 82,900 through the seller NGIVR Retails, a Flipkart vendor with six years of platform experience and a strong rating. While not directly from Apple, this provides a route to the older price. Local markets may also offer the iPhone 17 at the original MRP.
Additional Savings and Device Specs
Further discounts are possible through bank offers and cashback promotions on platforms like Flipkart. The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the A19 chipset. Its camera system includes dual 48MP rear sensors, though it lacks a telephoto lens. The front-facing camera has an 18MP sensor.
The device is water-resistant and offers good, though not exceptional, battery life compared to the Pro models. According to TelecomTalk, this presents a rare opportunity to acquire the iPhone 17 at its original price as retailers will likely prioritize maximizing profits on remaining inventory.
