OnePlus is preparing its next flagship contender, and recent leaks are painting a picture of substantial hardware improvements with the OnePlus 16. While an official launch date remains unconfirmed, details are emerging regarding the phone’s display, battery, camera system, and processing power.
Display and Design
The OnePlus 16 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display, offering a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The design is anticipated to draw inspiration from upcoming Oppo Find X10 models, featuring a glossy back panel and an aluminum chassis, according to leaks.
Performance
Powering the OnePlus 16 will reportedly be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, built on a 2nm process. This represents a significant leap in efficiency and performance. The device will ship with ColorOS 17, built on top of Android 17, OnePlus has confirmed.
Camera Capabilities
OnePlus is poised to introduce a first for the brand with the OnePlus 16: a 200MP primary camera sensor. This will be complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. A 50MP front-facing camera is also expected for selfies and video calls.
