Samsung Expands One UI 9 Based on Android 17

Samsung is expanding the rollout of One UI 9, its latest software iteration built on Android 17, to more smartphones. The update, which initially shipped with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8, is now reaching additional devices.

New Features Powered by AI

One UI 9 introduces several new features leveraging artificial intelligence. Among these is My FanCam, which uses AI to track a selected person within a video and keep them centered, dynamically adjusting the frame as the subject moves. TelecomTalk highlights this as a particularly innovative addition.

The update also enhances the Now Brief feature with Generative and Editable Cards, giving users greater control over the information presented in their daily summaries. Further AI-driven features include Now Nudge, offering context-aware suggestions, and Creative Studio, which provides image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. Existing features like Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder have also been improved.

Expanded Device Support

The One UI 9 update is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung’s current flagship series. The update focuses on keeping users connected, personalizing information, and simplifying device maintenance.

Enhanced Security

Alongside the new features, One UI 9 also strengthens device security with additions like Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, and Scam Detection, offering users increased protection against potential threats.
