Samsung is preparing to increase the prices of several smartphone lines in India, including its premium foldable devices, according to tech tipster Abhishek Yadav on X. The planned adjustments, expected to take effect in October 2026, reflect a broader trend of rising smartphone costs.
Price Hikes Across Multiple Series
The price increases will affect the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, and select models within the Galaxy A series. Specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is anticipated to see price adjustments beginning on October 10, 2026. This follows recent price increases for Samsung’s A series devices.
The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra are both expected to see price hikes of up to Rs 10,000. Currently, the Galaxy S25 (12GB + 128GB) is listed on Amazon India for Rs 61,999, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra (12GB + 256GB) is priced at Rs 99,999. Further price increases for the Galaxy A series are also possible, building on adjustments already implemented in recent months.
According to Yadav, the primary driver behind these price increases is the rising cost of DRAM. This suggests that Samsung, like other manufacturers, is passing on increased component costs to consumers.
