Airtel’s Rs 1749 Plan Bundles Apple Services, More

Bharti Airtel is targeting users who consume a lot of data and streaming content with a new Rs 1749 per month mobile plan. While the price point is high, the plan bundles a significant array of benefits, including access to multiple streaming platforms and add-on SIM cards.

Airtel’s Rs 1749 Plan: Key Details

The plan centres around a primary SIM with the option to add up to four additional SIM cards at no extra cost. According to TelecomTalk, this makes it suitable for families or individuals who want to share data and benefits with others.

  • Monthly Cost: Rs 1749
  • SIMs: One primary SIM + four add-on SIMs
  • Data: Unlimited 4G and 5G data (with a 300GB Fair Usage Policy per 30 days)
  • SMS: 100 SMS/day
  • OTT Benefits: Netflix Standard, Amazon Prime (six months), Google One, Apple TV, Apple Music, JioHotstar Mobile (one year), Airtel Xstream Play Premium, Adobe Express Premium (12 months), free hellotunes, and Blue Ribbon Bag

Despite advertising ‘unlimited’ data, Airtel applies a 300GB Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit every 30 days. This means that while users have a large data allowance, speeds may be reduced after exceeding the FUP. The unlimited data benefit extends to all connected SIMs, not just the primary one.

Beyond data and connectivity, the plan’s value proposition lies in its extensive list of Over-The-Top (OTT) subscriptions. Subscribers gain access to popular services like Netflix Standard and Amazon Prime for a limited period, alongside Apple TV and Apple Music, as well as a range of other entertainment and utility apps. Additional GST will be applied to the final bill.
