Following a strong September driven by demand for the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple is reportedly planning another product launch on October 13, 2026. The company is likely to introduce a new Home hub for the global market, currently referred to as ‘Homepad’.
What is the Apple Homepad?
The Homepad is expected to resemble a tablet, but will not function as a traditional tablet device. Instead, it will run a completely new operating system, combining features from existing Apple products. According to reports, the Homepad will integrate the StandBy mode found on iPhones, the widget functionality of the Apple Watch, and media capabilities similar to those of Apple TV.
Notably, the Homepad will not have its own dedicated App Store. Instead, it will focus on providing a streamlined, personalized experience. The device is anticipated to feature a roughly 6-inch display.
Mark Gurman at Bloomberg reports that the Homepad will be able to make FaceTime video calls and will use facial recognition to tailor settings to individual users. Gurman states the launch date is October 13, 2026, but it remains unclear whether Apple will hold a dedicated event or opt for a more quiet release.
