How to Upgrade to Airtel eSIM
The upgrade process is handled entirely through the Airtel Thanks app, available on both iOS and Android. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Initiate the Request: Log in to the Airtel Thanks app using your Airtel phone number and navigate to the ‘Home’ page. Scroll down to the ‘Shortcuts’ section and select the ‘Upgrade to eSIM’ icon.
- Device Selection: Choose whether you are upgrading the eSIM for ‘this device’ or ‘another device’.
- EID Number: Enter your device’s 32-digit EID number.
- OTP Verification: Airtel will send a one-time password (OTP) to your registered mobile number.
- Verification Call: Following the OTP submission, Airtel will call within 10 minutes to verify the request.
- Profile Download & Activation: Once verified, the eSIM profile will be submitted and available for download. Activation typically occurs within 2 hours of downloading the profile.
- Remove Physical SIM: After activation, remove your physical SIM card from the device.
