Bharti Airtel has proactively strengthened its mobile network in Mumbai to support the surge in connectivity needs during the Ganesh Utsav celebrations. The company focused its efforts on areas surrounding four of the city’s most popular Ganpati pandals, anticipating high concentrations of people and increased mobile data usage.
Preparing for Peak Demand
Airtel planned for the increased demand by expanding and optimising its network capacity around Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbaicha Raja, Chinchpoklicha Chintamani, and Khetwadicha Ganraj. According to the company, these preparations were specifically designed to account for expected crowd movements and the resulting increase in calls and data consumption.
The need for robust connectivity during Ganesh Utsav extends beyond simple communication. Families often rely on mobile phones to coordinate meeting points, navigate to the pandals, and stay in touch if separated within the crowds. Once at the pandals, visitors frequently share photos and videos with those unable to attend. Airtel’s upgrades aim to facilitate these common uses.
Live Darshan Available Online
For devotees unable to visit in person, Airtel is offering a live stream of Shree Lalbaugcha Raja – 2026 Darshan via its Airtel Xstream Play platform. This allows individuals to participate in the festivities remotely. The online viewing option complements the network enhancements made at the pandal locations, providing different ways to experience the event.
While Airtel has not disclosed the specific amount of capacity added, the company stated its preparations were based on anticipated usage levels. They have not offered a guarantee of uninterrupted connectivity, but the effort aims to improve the experience for customers navigating the crowded festival sites.
