iPhone 18 Pro Launches in India with New Colours

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available in India, bringing with them a refreshed colour palette and internal upgrades. While design changes are minimal, the new models boast a 40% performance increase over the iPhone 17 Pro, according to Apple.

Colour Choices

This generation offers four colour options: Burgundy, Black, Glacier, and Silver. Burgundy has already garnered significant attention, though the author of the original report at TelecomTalk personally prefers the Black finish, which was absent from the iPhone 17 Pro series.

Design and Materials

The iPhone 18 Pro maintains a similar design to its predecessor, but is constructed with 40% recycled materials. Apple has reverted to using an Aluminum body, moving away from the Titanium used in previous models. Packaging for the new iPhones is made entirely from fiber-based paper, designed for easy home recycling, Apple stated.

Performance Boost

A key upgrade lies in the redesigned cooling system. The iPhone 18 Pro features a next-generation vapor chamber with three times more surface area than the iPhone 17 Pro. This, combined with the new A20 Pro chip, enables the device to sustain performance and operate 40% faster than the previous generation.

Pricing and Availability

The base iPhone 18 Pro model, with 256GB of storage, starts at Rs 1,64,900 in India. In some markets, Apple will continue to offer eSIM-only variants, but physical SIM card slots will be available in countries like India.

Dynamic Island Refinement

The Dynamic Island has been subtly refined, being smaller than in the iPhone 17 Pro. The impact of this size reduction on the user experience remains to be seen.
