Vivo is breaking with recent tradition by preparing to launch three new smartphones simultaneously: the Vivo X500 5G, the Vivo X500 Pro 5G, and the Vivo X500 Pro Max 5G. The company has officially confirmed a launch date of September 21, 2026, for the series.
Launch Details and Initial Availability
The launch event will begin at 7 PM local time in China, translating to approximately 4:30 PM in India. Initially, the devices will be available exclusively in the Chinese market, with a wider global rollout – including India – expected to follow in the months after the initial release, according to Vivo.
Key Features Highlighted
While full specifications are still under wraps, Vivo has already revealed some key features of the upcoming lineup. Both Pro models are reportedly capable of 4K video recording at 120fps, offering a significant boost for videographers. The Vivo X500 Pro Max 5G is set to feature a 200MP telephoto sensor for detailed image capture.
Display Technology
The Vivo X500 Pro Max 5G will boast a 6.85-inch BOE 2K Zeiss Master Color display, utilizing the latest Q11 luminescent material. Vivo is sourcing the display panel from BOE, and reports suggest the BOE Q10 panel may also feature in other models within the X500 series.
Performance Expectations
Speculation points to the Vivo X500 Pro Max 5G being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip. However, it’s important to note that MediaTek has not yet officially unveiled this chipset. Vivo has indicated that the X500 series will focus on camera capabilities, design, and overall performance.
Design Innovations
The Vivo X500 Pro Max is anticipated to have a particularly striking design element: a significantly enlarged camera island at the rear. Reports indicate this island will be substantial in size, resembling the form of a camera lens itself. Vivo has not yet revealed the complete design of the devices.
